Equity and Inclusion

Mama Humboldt Birth Services is rooted in community, inclusivity and birth justice.

As a Black Mother, I am committed to reducing health inequity and closing gaps in care for the BIPOC community. I want to do my part to help reduce the instances of negative birth outcomes for black and brown birthers.

In accordance with being a decent human being (and the federal law), I do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, race, ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, education level, disability, appearance, religion/spirituality, or age. I do believe in dismantling the health inequities that exist for African American, Hispanic, Native American, and LGBTQ+ families by examining our own biases, continuously learning cultural humility, and striving to provide culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care.
